PP Sheet Milling Machine

A PP sheet milling machine is an industrial piece of equipment specifically designed for producing polypropylene (PP) sheets. Polypropylene, a common plastic material, is lightweight, durable, and recyclable, and is widely used in packaging, home furnishings, and industrial applications. The PP sheet milling machine processes PP raw materials into sheets of specific thickness and width, providing a base material for downstream products. The following section will detail the relevant knowledge of PP sheet milling machines from aspects such as working principle, main structure, application areas, and development trends.

1. Working Principle of PP Sheet Milling Machine
The working process of a PP sheet milling machine is based on plastic extrusion technology. Polypropylene granules enter the extruder through a feeding system. Inside the extruder, the raw material is heated and stirred by the screw, gradually melting into a uniform fluid. The molten polypropylene then passes through a die, forming a preliminary sheet structure. Next, the sheet enters a calendering and cooling system, where it is calendered by rollers and cooled by cooling water, solidifying the sheet to achieve the required thickness and surface finish. The sheet is then wound or cut into standard sizes by a traction and cutting device. The entire process requires precise control of temperature, pressure, and speed to ensure consistent sheet quality.

2. Main Structure of a PP Sheet Mill

A PP sheet mill typically consists of several key components, each playing a crucial role in the production line. The extruder, the core component, includes the screw and barrel, responsible for melting and conveying the raw materials. The die design directly affects the width and thickness distribution of the sheet; common types include T-die heads and coat hanger dies. The calendering system, composed of multiple rollers, is used to calibrate the sheet thickness and surface flatness. The cooling system rapidly reduces the sheet temperature using water or air cooling to prevent deformation. The traction device ensures the sheet moves forward at a uniform speed, while the cutting device slits or winds the sheet as needed. Auxiliary equipment such as dryers and mixers further improve raw material processing efficiency.
